Hello Family Voices community!
Researchers at UC Berkeley and UCSF have achieved a remarkable breakthrough in neurotechnology: real-time conversion of brain signals directly into speech.
Imagine the implications: individuals who have lost their ability to speak can now communicate naturally using their own voice, powered solely by their thoughts. This revolutionary technology samples neural signals from the motor cortex and converts them into audible speech in less than one second—a dramatic improvement over previous systems that required eight seconds for processing.
This advancement represents not just an incremental improvement but a transformative leap in brain-computer interface technology, opening new possibilities for those with speech impairments and potentially reshaping how we understand the relationship between neural activity and communication.
BUT FIRST……TRIVIA
If your circulatory system were a highway, how long would it take a Porsche traveling at 200 MPH to cover the distance?

Answer: 12 ½ days or 300 hours!
Your circulatory system is 60,000 miles long so it would take a Porsche 12 ½ days at 200MPH to traverse it all. Plus you’d have to be a masterful driver to navigate those hairpin turns at that speed. But…. I guess sugar is faster than a Porsche? Because those gummy bears hit my system at light speed!
What is it?
Researchers from UC Berkeley and UC San Francisco have developed a groundbreaking AI system that converts brain waves into spoken words, enabling paralyzed individuals to communicate using their own voices in near real-time
How it’s used?
The system works by sampling neural data from the brain's motor cortex and using AI to decode this activity into spoken words. Most impressively, it begins processing and outputting speech within one second of attempted speech—dramatically improving upon the eight-second delay in previous research.

An incredible newsletter with great AI prompts.
How I use it?
As you already know, I’m a big fan of Claude.ai by Anthropic. It really excels at writing in a “human” style. (I do realize that’s ironic….and not Alanis style!) Plus it thinks in a less robotic way. Yeah…that sounds fluffy, but just try it out and you’ll see what I mean. But it can also cover the more left brained analysis very well. Here’s a prompt to show you.
Here’s a detailed prompt provided by God of Prompt that is a stellar example of how Claude kicks AI butt. You can replace the bolded text, with your industry of choice to see how it works for you. It’ll examine an industry and give you some actionable insights. Then you can have it write up some copy based on its own observations. Pretty cool, huh?

Discuss the barriers to entry for new competitors, considering factors like capital requirements, technological expertise, and brand loyalty.
For each section, offer insights into the opportunities and challenges these dynamics present to businesses within the industry. Conclude by summarizing the main findings and suggest strategic recommendations for companies looking to enter, compete, or expand in the family tree industry.
Ensure the analysis is well-structured, with clear headings for each section, and include visual aids like charts or graphs where applicable to enhance the presentation of data. Cite credible sources to back your findings and conclusions.
